Our Accreditation

Our accreditation

Brooklyn School of Languages (BSL) is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA). CEA is a specialized accrediting agency that focuses on post-secondary intensive English language programs and institutions.

CEA’s purpose is to promote excellence in the field of English language teaching and administration, as well as to protect the interests of students, through accreditation of English language programs and institutions worldwide. CEA achieves this by advancing widely-held standards to foster continuous program development through a rigorous process of regular self-assessment and peer evaluation.

In order to be accredited, BSL must prove that it upholds all CEA standards, meaning that the school must follow and maintain good practices in all aspects of the program including areas such as Academics, Faculty, Student Services, and more. The complete list of CEA standards and more information on what they represent can be found here:

CEA accreditation ensures that students choosing BSL are attending a high quality English language program. However, if a student is unhappy about the services provided by the school, or if they think that the school is not maintaining the standards set out in the list above, they have the opportunity to file a complaint with CEA. Complaints can be filed by a student, faculty member, staff member, as well as others outside of the program. More information on filing a complaint can be found here:

Brooklyn School of Languages is honored to be recognized as a CEA-accredited school. We endeavor to maintain high quality teaching and service to all of our students.
